APT developed by RIP Studios
APT was the first project started with a group of friends interested in game development. It was ambitious and the team was lacking in the ability to finish the project due to people leaving the project for life reasons. The game was completed and shipped to Steam by the remaining two members.
PROJECT CONCEPT
The project was aiming to be a new take on a concept like Portal. We wanted to make it more twitch based and focused on precision.
There was a large storyline crafted with the player being led through trials by a test proctor, with hints dropping throughout, that as the player we were an AI being run through a complex Turing test. With the final twist being the proctor was the AI being tested all along.
The project did not get a fully featured release as the team ran out of money.
MY CONTRIBUTIONS
On this team I was primarily responsible for all business aspects. I also did effects, materials, textures, some blueprinting, a lot of troubleshooting, a few level designs, storyboarding, and scripts.
This was one of the earliest games I worked on that was a full stand-alone game and not an experiment or for a game jam.
